“Tall” (portrait) orientation photos are displayed in “wide” (landscape) orientation

Is [OFF] selected for [Record camera orientation] or [Auto-rotate pictures]?

Pictures do not automatically rotate during playback if [OFF] is selected for [Record camera orientation] or [Auto-rotate pictures] in the playback menu. Select [ON] for [Record camera orientation] and [Auto-rotate pictures] to automatically rotate the playback display to match the orientation information recorded in the pictures. Note that auto picture rotation is not available:

• during picture review, or
• when the camera orientation was not correctly recorded in photos that were taken with the camera pointing up or down or panning.
