Vibration reduction (VR) has no effect
- Is the lens correctly attached?
-
The CPU contacts of the camera and lens may fail to connect if the lens is not attached correctly, preventing communication between the two devices. Turn the camera off and reattach the lens.
- Refer to the Reference Guide for your camera for information on attaching and removing lenses.
- Is vibration reduction enabled?
- Select an option other than [Off] for [Vibration reduction] in the photo shooting or video recording menu if available. An icon appears in the shooting display when vibration reduction is enabled.
- Does the lens support vibration reduction?
- Use a lens that supports vibration reduction if that setting is not available on your camera. Lenses with vibration reduction include “VR” in the product name (e.g., NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR).
- Are you using an F mount lens with an FTZ II/FTZ mount adapter?
-
- If the F mount lens is equipped with a vibration reduction switch, select a position other than OFF to enable vibration reduction.
- If an F mount lens that supports vibration reduction is attached, the vibration reduction feature on the camera is not available.
- If you are using a non-CPU lens, you can use the vibration reduction feature on the camera by entering the lens focal length via [Non-CPU lens data] in the setup menu.
