How to Charge the Battery
Thank you for your purchase of an MH-34 battery charger for Nikon EN-EL15c/EN-EL15b rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Before use, read these instructions and the documentation provided with the MH-34 thoroughly.
What You Need for Charging
You need one of the following to use this product:
- An optional EH-8P AC adapter and a USB cable featuring Type-C connectors at both ends*
- An optional EH-7P charging AC adapter
We do not guarantee that third-party USB cables are compatible with this product.
Charging with Third-Party USB Type-C and PD (Power Delivery) Compatible AC Adapters
- You can use third-party AC adapters to charge the camera battery. Use an AC adapter equipped with USB Type-C connectors that supports USB PD (power delivery).
- Use an AC adapter with a minimum output of 27 W (9 V/3 A).
- Use a USB cable that has Type-C connectors on both ends to connect to the charger.
- We do not guarantee that all third-party AC adapters and USB cables will be able to charge the camera battery.
Charging the Battery
You can use an EH-8P AC adapter with a USB cable (featuring Type-C connectors at both ends) or an EH-7P charging AC adapter to charge the battery. The shape of the plug varies with the country or region of purchase.

Connect the EH-7P charging AC adapter or the USB cable (featuring Type-C connectors at both ends) that is connected to the EH-8P AC adapter to the battery charger.
EH-8P: Connect one end of the USB cable (featuring Type-C connectors at both ends) to the EH-8P AC adapter and the other to the charger.

EH-7P: Connect the EH-7P to the charger.

Plug the EH-8P or EH-7P into a household power outlet.

Insert the battery into the charger.
- Charging begins.
- Choose a location where the charger will remain stable and free from vibration during use.
- An exhausted EN-EL15c battery will fully charge in about 2 hours and 30 minutes, and an EN-EL15b battery will charge in about 2 hours and 50 minutes when using the EH-8P.

- The “CHARGE %” lamp flashes while charging and turns on after charging is complete.
- There may be a delay of about five seconds before the lamp starts flashing.

Battery status is shown by the “CHARGE %” lamp:
“CHARGE %” lamp Status Flashes once and turns off, in repetition Charging (less than 50% charged) Flashes twice and turns off, in repetition Charging (50% charged) Flashes three times and turns off, in repetition Charging (80% charged) Turns on Charging complete

When charging is complete, unplug the EH-8P or EH-7P and disconnect it from the charger.
Caution: Charging EN-EL15a/EN-EL15 Batteries
EN-EL15a and EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion batteries are not compatible with MH-34 battery chargers. Be sure to use the MH-25a when charging these batteries via a charger.
If the “CHARGE %” Lamp Flashes Rapidly
If the “CHARGE %” lamp on the charger flashes rapidly (8 times a second):
- The battery is not inserted correctly: Unplug the charger and remove and reinsert the battery.
- The ambient temperature is too hot or too cold: Use the battery charger at temperatures within the designated temperature range (0–40 °C/+32–104 °F).
If the problem persists, unplug the charger and end charging. Bring the battery and charger to a Nikon-authorized service representative.
