ISO sensitivity

A higher ISO sensitivity allows darker subjects to be captured. Additionally, even with subjects of similar brightness, pictures can be taken at faster shutter speeds, and blurring caused by camera shake and subject movement can be reduced.

When a higher ISO sensitivity is set, images may contain noise.

Option	Description
ISO sensitivity	[100-400]: Sensitivity is automatically selected from the range of 100 to 400. [100-800]: Sensitivity is automatically selected from the range of 100 to 800. [100-1600] (default setting): Sensitivity is automatically selected from the range of 100 to 1600. [100-3200]: Sensitivity is automatically selected from the range of 100 to 3200. [100-6400]: Sensitivity is automatically selected from the range of 100 to 6400. [100] to [6400]: ISO sensitivity is fixed at the specified value.
Minimum shutter speed	Set the shutter speed at which ISO sensitivity starts to be automatically adjusted when the shooting mode is or . If the exposure is insufficient with the shutter speed that is set here, the ISO sensitivity is increased automatically to obtain the optimal exposure. The setting is enabled when [ISO sensitivity] is set to [100-400], [100-800], [100-1600], [100-3200], or [100-6400]. If the exposure is still insufficient even after ISO sensitivity is increased, the shutter speed slows down. Default setting: [None] Not displayed in (Movie manual) mode.

ISO sensitivity display on the shooting screen

In , , , , , and Movie manual modes, and the maximum value for ISO sensitivity are displayed when [100-400] , [100-800], [100-1600], [100-3200], or [100-6400] is selected. If the ISO sensitivity is fixed, and the setting value are displayed.
If the shooting mode is not , , , , or , and is displayed, the ISO sensitivity is automatically set and the maximum value for ISO sensitivity is displayed.
In all other shooting modes, is displayed only when the sensitivity increases.
