Camera setup

Use the flexible buttons and multi selector to select and adjust settings.

1. Press the power switch to turn on the camera.
   
2. Press on the multi selector to select a language and press flexible button 4 () to confirm the selection.
   
   • The displayed languages vary depending on the country or region.
   • The language can be changed at any time using the camera settings menu [Language].
3. Press flexible button 3 ( [Yes]).
   
4. Press flexible button 2, 3, or 4 to select a date format.
5. Set the date and time.
   
   • Press to highlight items and to change them.
   • Select the minute field and press flexible button 4 () to confirm the setting.
   • Press flexible button 3 () to set daylight saving time. When it is on, the time is one hour earlier and is displayed. If you press flexible button 3 () again to turn it off, the time goes back one hour.
6. When the confirmation dialog is displayed, press flexible button 3 ( [Yes]).
   
   • You can change the date and time using the camera settings menu [Date and time].
7. Use to select a background design and press flexible button 4 ().
   
   • To restore the default background designs, press flexible button 3 ().
   • You can change the background design using the camera settings menu [Menu background].
8. Read the message about the waterproof function, and press .
   
   • Waterproofing-related messages are displayed at times such as when turning on the camera for the first time or after charging.
9. Confirm the last message and press flexible button 4 ().
   
   • Setup is complete and the camera switches to the shooting screen.
