Self-timer

The camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter 10 seconds or 5 seconds after you press the shutter-release button.

OffThe self-timer is not used.
10 sThe camera releases the shutter 10 seconds after you press the shutter-release button.
Use on important occasions, such as weddings.
Self-portrait timerThe camera releases the shutter 5 seconds after you press the shutter-release button.
Use for self-portraits.
Smile timerWhen the camera detects a smiling face, you can take a picture automatically without pressing the shutter-release button.
  1. Press flexible button 3 ( [10 s]) or flexible button 4 ( [Self-portrait timer]).
  2. Frame the picture and press the shutter-release button halfway.
    • When using [10 s], make sure that the subjects are in focus.
    • When using [Self-portrait timer], press the shutter-release button all the way down in step 3, and then frame the picture.
  3. Press the shutter-release button all the way down.
    • Countdown starts.
    • The self-timer lamp flashes and then glows steadily about one second before the shutter is released.
    • When the shutter is released, the self-timer is set to [Off].
    • To stop the countdown, press the shutter-release button again.

This function may not be available to use in combination with other functions.

  • [10 s]: The focus and exposure are locked when you press the shutter-release button all the way down.
  • [Self-portrait timer]: The focus and exposure are set immediately before the shutter is released.
