Notes about connecting to a printer

  • Make sure to turn the camera off before openning the cover. Check there are no water droplets. If there are water droplets, wipe the camera with a soft dry cloth.
  • Make sure that the camera battery is sufficiently charged. If the EH-62G AC Adapter (available separately) is used, this camera can be powered from an electrical outlet. Do not, under any circumstances, use an AC adapter other than the EH-62G. Failure to observe this precaution could result in overheating or in damage to the camera.
  • Operation is not guaranteed if the camera is connected to the printer via a USB hub.
  • For information about the connection methods and subsequent operations, refer to the documentation included with the printer in addition to this document.
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Turn off the camera.
  3. Connect the camera to the printer using the USB cable.
    • Check the shape and direction of the plugs and do not insert or remove the plugs at an angle.
  4. The camera is automatically turned on.
    • The [PictBridge] startup screen is displayed on the camera screen, followed by the [Print selection] screen.

If the PictBridge startup screen is not displayed

When the camera settings menu [Charge by computer] is set to [Auto], it may be impossible to print images with direct connection of the camera to some printers. If the PictBridge startup screen is not displayed after the camera is turned on, turn the camera off and disconnect the USB cable. Set [Charge by computer] to [Off] and reconnect the camera to the printer.
