New Custom Setting: f13 “Prefer Sub-selector Center”

A [Prefer sub-selector center] item has been added to the Custom Settings menu at position f13. Although at the default setting ([ON]) the sub-selector cannot be used to position the focus point while its center is pressed, it can be so used when [OFF] is selected for [Prefer sub-selector center].

  • This means that you can position the focus point while using the center of the sub-selector to perform the function chosen for [Sub-selector center] using Custom Setting f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] (f2: Custom Controls (Shooting)) or g2 [Custom controls] (g2: Custom Controls). In particular, you can assign [AF-area mode] to the center of the sub-selector and use it to temporarily switch AF-area modes without interfering with your ability to position the focus point.
