Precautions for Use
- ME-D10 Shotgun Microphones
- Keep the ME-D10 in the supplied soft case with the digital accessory foot cover attached when not in use.
- Do not touch the digital accessory shoe terminal with your fingers.
- Do not use at temperatures below −10 °C/14 °F or above 40 °C/104 °F. Failure to observe this precaution could cause a product malfunction.
- Do not drop the ME-D10 or subject it to strong shocks or vibration. Failure to observe this precaution could damage the product or cause it to malfunction.
- Do not subject the ME-D10’s sound collecting part to powerful air currents, for example, from a blower. Failure to observe this precaution could damage the product or cause it to malfunction.
- Do not apply pressure from outside when the device is placed in a sealed bag. Failure to observe this precaution could damage the product or cause it to malfunction.
- Do not place under heavy objects or subject to heavy loads. Failure to observe these precautions could cause damage or malfunction.
- Do not pick up the camera by the ME-D10 alone. Failure to observe this precaution could damage the connective parts of the products.
- The device may malfunction if used in the vicinity of radio transmitters or other devices that produce strong static charges or magnetic fields.
- If the ME-D10 will not be used for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry location to prevent mold and rust. Do not store the ME-D10 with naphtha or camphor moth balls, next to equipment that produces strong electromagnetic fields, or where it will be exposed to extremely high temperatures, for example near a heater or in an enclosed vehicle on a hot day. Failure to observe this precaution could cause product malfunction.
- The presence of dust or water on the ME-D10 may interfere with clear sound recording. Wipe the product gently with a soft, dry cloth before use.
- The ME-D10 may pick up sounds made by the camera or lens during recording.
- The ME-D10 may pick up sounds caused by touching it during recording.
- Wind Muffs
- When using the wind muff, prevent fibers from the muff from sticking to the lens or entering the camera while changing the lens.
- Do not stretch or wash the wind muff. Failure to observe this precaution may cause fibers to come loose, resulting in deterioration of its wind noise reduction capacity.
- If the wind muff is wet, dry it thoroughly before placing it in storage.
- Store the wind muff in a cool, dry location, away from direct sunlight. Failure to observe this precaution could cause the fabric to deteriorate or discolor.
