Viewing looped videos

You can repeatedly play back only a specified section of video by selecting [Loop playback] in the i menu while video playback is paused, and specifying a section of video to be looped.

  1. In full-frame playback, display a video you want to play back in a loop.
  2. Pause the video on the opening frame of the section you want to play back in a loop.
    • Press the center of the multi selector to play back the video. Press the multi selector down to pause the video.
    • Your approximate position in the video can be ascertained from the video progress bar.
    • Press the multi selector left or right or rotate a command dial to locate the desired frame.
  3. Press the A button, highlight [Loop playback], and press the multi selector right.
  4. Choose the start point.

    Highlight [Start point] and press the center of the multi selector to play the footage from that point onward in a loop.
  5. Adjust the selected start point.
    • Press the multi selector left or right to adjust the starting position for loop playback one frame at a time.
    • Rotate the main command dial one stop to skip ahead or back 10 frames.
    • Rotate the sub-command dial one stop to skip ahead or back 10 s.
    • While adjusting the selected start point, performing normal playback, slow-motion playback, jog rewind/advance, or operations that skip to the first or last frame (Video playback operations) will also move the start point and end point of the section of video.
  6. Choose the end point of the section you want to play back in a loop.
    • Tap P to switch to the end-point selection tool (x) and then select the closing frame (x) as described in Step 5.
  7. Press the multi selector up to confirm the section to be looped and play it back in a loop.
    • Loop playback begins, and only the specified section is played back repeatedly.
    • During loop playback, the same operations can be performed as during regular video playback (Video playback operations).
    • During loop playback, performing operations such as advance or rewind will pause the video at the last frame or the first frame without playing back in a loop.
  8. Press the multi selector up to end loop playback.

Performing loop playback of only the opening footage or closing footage of the video

  • To loop only the opening footage from a video, choose [End point] in Step 4, press the center of the multi selector, and proceed to Step 7 without tapping P in Step 6.
  • To loop only the closing footage, proceed to Step 7 without touching P in Step 6.
