Skin softening

Pictures taken when the face of a human portrait subject is detected will automatically be processed to soften the subject’s complexion.

OptionDescription
[High]Choose the amount of skin softening performed from (in order from high to low) [High], [Normal], and [Low].
  • The camera can perform skin softening on up to three subjects at a time.
  • If more than one human portrait subject is detected, a gray focus point will appear over each of the subjects. If [Auto-area AF] is selected for [AF-area mode], H and F icons will appear on the focus point selected by the camera. The focus point can be positioned by pressing the multi selector left or right to choose the subject to which skin softening applies.

Skin softening: Restrictions

Skin softening cannot be combined with some camera features, including:

  • high-speed frame capture +,
  • multiple exposures,
  • HDR overlay, and
  • dehaze.
