f4: Customize touch controls

  1. A button (press and hold)
  2. A Custom Settings menu

Configure the touch shutter (which moves the focus point to a location tapped on the display) and the touch control guide of the shooting display.

Touch shooting options

Choose the function for when the shooting display is tapped in photo mode.

OptionDescription
[Touch shutter/touch AF]
  • Touch the display to focus on the selected point and lift your finger to release the shutter.
  • When choosing an eye using touch controls, note that the camera may not focus on the eye on the side you intend. Use the multi selector to choose the desired eye.
  • If [Auto-area AF] is selected for AF-area mode, the camera will focus on the chosen point, release the shutter, and track the selected subject. Press the center of the multi selector to end tracking.
[Touch AF]
  • Touch the display to focus on the selected point. Lifting your finger from the display does not release the shutter.
  • If [Auto-area AF] is selected for AF-area mode, the camera will focus on and track the subject at the chosen point. Press the center of the multi selector to end tracking.
[Move focus point]
  • Touch the display to position the focus point. The camera will not focus and lifting your finger from the display will not release the shutter.
  • If [Auto-area AF] is selected for AF-area mode, focus will track the subject at the chosen point. Press the center of the multi selector to end tracking.
[Off]Touch controls are disabled.

Touch control guide

Choose the function for when the touch control guide of the shooting display is tapped in photo mode.

OptionDescription
[Zoom]Tap the touch control guide to zoom in or out on the shooting display.
[Power zoom]Tap the touch control guide to zoom using the power zoom lens.
  • This option is enabled only when a power zoom lens is mounted on the camera.
[None]The touch control guide is not displayed.
