ISO sensitivity settings

Adjust the ISO sensitivity settings for video mode.

Option	Description
[Maximum sensitivity]	Choose the upper limit for auto ISO sensitivity control from values between ISO 200 and Hi 2.0. The selected value serves as the upper limit for ISO sensitivity in modes P, S, and A and when [ON] is selected for [Auto ISO control (mode M)] in mode M.
[Auto ISO control (mode M)]	[ON]: Enable auto ISO sensitivity control in mode M. [OFF]: Use the value selected for [ISO sensitivity (mode M)]. Regardless of the option selected, auto ISO sensitivity control is used in modes other than M.
[ISO sensitivity (mode M)]	Choose the ISO sensitivity for mode M from values between ISO 100 and Hi 2.0. Values between Lo 0.3 and 2.0 and ISO 800 and 51200 are available when [N-Log] is selected for video tone mode.

[Maximum sensitivity]

Choose the upper limit for auto ISO sensitivity control from values between ISO 200 and Hi 2.0.

The selected value serves as the upper limit for ISO sensitivity in modes P, S, and A and when [ON] is selected for [Auto ISO control (mode M)] in mode M.

[Auto ISO control (mode M)]

[ON]: Enable auto ISO sensitivity control in mode M.
[OFF]: Use the value selected for [ISO sensitivity (mode M)].
Regardless of the option selected, auto ISO sensitivity control is used in modes other than M.

[ISO sensitivity (mode M)]

Choose the ISO sensitivity for mode M from values between ISO 100 and Hi 2.0.

Values between Lo 0.3 and 2.0 and ISO 800 and 51200 are available when [N-Log] is selected for video tone mode.

The following options can be set if [R3D NE 12-bit (R3D)] is selected for [Video file type] in the video recording menu.

Option	Description
[Base ISO sensitivity]	Set the base ISO sensitivity according to the scene. R3D RAW video is recorded at the set base ISO sensitivity. [Low sensitivity]: Set the base ISO sensitivity to ISO 800. Select this setting for bright scenes. [High sensitivity]: Set the base ISO sensitivity to ISO 6400. Select this setting for dark scenes. ISO sensitivity for R3D RAW video can be adjusted in the post-production process.
[ISO sensitivity]	Set the brightness of the shooting display and the ISO sensitivity of MP4 video (proxy video) that is recorded simultaneously. If ISO sensitivity was adjusted, you can easily check the exposure in the post-production process. ISO sensitivity is recorded in the R3D RAW video as metadata. The ISO sensitivity value that can be set varies depending on the selected [Base ISO sensitivity] setting. [Low sensitivity]: ISO 200 to ISO 3200 [High sensitivity]: ISO 1600 to ISO 25600

[Base ISO sensitivity]

Set the base ISO sensitivity according to the scene. R3D RAW video is recorded at the set base ISO sensitivity.

[Low sensitivity]: Set the base ISO sensitivity to ISO 800. Select this setting for bright scenes.
[High sensitivity]: Set the base ISO sensitivity to ISO 6400. Select this setting for dark scenes.
ISO sensitivity for R3D RAW video can be adjusted in the post-production process.

[ISO sensitivity]

Set the brightness of the shooting display and the ISO sensitivity of MP4 video (proxy video) that is recorded simultaneously. If ISO sensitivity was adjusted, you can easily check the exposure in the post-production process.

ISO sensitivity is recorded in the R3D RAW video as metadata.
The ISO sensitivity value that can be set varies depending on the selected [Base ISO sensitivity] setting.
- [Low sensitivity]: ISO 200 to ISO 3200
- [High sensitivity]: ISO 1600 to ISO 25600

Cautions: Auto ISO sensitivity control

At high ISO sensitivities, “noise” (randomly-spaced bright pixels, fog, or lines) may increase.
At high ISO sensitivities, the camera may have difficulty focusing.
The foregoing can be prevented by choosing a lower value for [ISO sensitivity settings] > [Maximum sensitivity].
