Connect to other cameras

Connect to other cameras for shutter or clock synchronization.

Synchronized release

Select [ON] to synchronize the shutter release with those of cameras on the same network.

Network settings

Add camera network profiles. This item can also be used to choose from existing network profiles.

Create profile

Create new network profiles (Synchronized release).

  • If more than one profile already exists, you can press the center of the multi selector to choose a profile and connect to the selected network.
  • To edit an existing profile, highlight it and press the multi selector right.

  • [Profile name]: Rename the profile.
  • [Password protection]: Select [On] to require that a password be entered before the profile can be changed. To change the password, highlight [On] and press the multi selector right.
[TCP/IP]Adjust the TCP/IP settings. An IP address is required.
  • If [ON] is selected for [Obtain automatically], the IP address and sub-net mask will be acquired via a DHCP server or automatic IP addressing.
  • Select [OFF] to enter the IP address ([Address]) and sub-net mask ([Mask]) manually.

Copy to/from card

Copy created network profiles to memory cards to share them with other cameras.

  • If two memory cards are inserted, the profiles will be copied to and from the card in the slot selected for [Primary slot selection] in the photo shooting menu.

[Copy profile from card]Copy profiles from the root directory of the memory card to the camera profile list.
[Copy profile to card]Copy profiles from the camera to the memory card. Highlight a profile and press the center of the multi selector to copy it to the memory card.
  • Password-protected profiles cannot be copied.

End current connection

End the connection to the current network.

Master/remote

Choose a role for each camera from “master” and “remote”. Pressing the shutter-release/REC button on the master camera releases the shutters on all remote cameras that are both on the same network and in the same group.

Group settings

Set a group of cameras to perform synchronized release.

  • This can only be set when [Master/remote] is set to [Master camera].
  • Highlight a created group and press the multi selector right to change the group settings.

[Display name]Set a name to be displayed when selecting a group. Display names can be up to 32 characters long.
[Group name]Set a group name. Group names can be up to 8 characters long.
[Remote camera list]Check the status of remote cameras (Viewing remote camera status).

New

Copy to/from card

Copy group settings to memory cards to share them with other cameras.

  • If two memory cards are inserted, the group settings will be copied to and from the card in the slot selected for [Primary slot selection] in the photo shooting menu.

Highlight a group and press the multi selector right to display the [Choose destination] screen. Highlight a destination and press the center of the multi selector to copy the group to the memory card.

Group name

Set a group name for the remote cameras. Shutter release is synchronized across the cameras on the network that are in the same group.

  • This can only be set when [Master/remote] is set to [Remote camera].

Synchronize date and time

Set the clocks on the remote cameras to the date and time reported by the master camera (Synchronizing camera clocks).

Overwrite copyright info

Performing this function will overwrite the copyright information of the remote cameras in the currently connected group with the copyright information set in the master camera.
