[] determines how long the control panel and the monitor or viewfinder display remain on after the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. The monitor and viewfinder dim a few seconds before the standby timer expires. If [] is selected, the timer will be extended to 20 seconds while the i menu is displayed.

With the exception of [], each of the power-off delays is extended by one minute in self-timer mode.
