New Options for Custom Settings f2 “Custom Controls (Shooting)” and g2 “Custom Controls”

Additions have been made to the roles available and the controls to which they can be assigned for Custom Setting f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] or g2 [Custom controls]. In addition, custom controls can now be reset.

New Reset Option

You can now reset selected controls to their default roles in the control-selection displays for Custom Settings f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] and g2 [Custom controls].

  • Highlight the desired control and press O (Q) to display a confirmation dialog where you can reset the control to its default role by highlighting [Yes] and pressing J.
  • Pressing and holding the O (Q) button for about three seconds when a control is highlighted displays a confirmation dialog where you can reset all controls to their default roles by highlighting [Yes] and pressing J.

Newly Customizable Controls

  • The following controls can now be customized:

    • q [Playback button]
    • s [BKT button]
    • p [WB button]
  • For f2 [Custom controls (shooting)], u [Focus mode button] can now also be customized.

New Roles Available via Custom Setting f2 “Custom Controls (Shooting)”

Option Description
z [Switch eyes] Press the control to choose the eye used for focus when the camera detects the eyes of a human or animal portrait subject.
r [Cycle AF-area mode]

Press the control to cycle the AF-area mode.

  • To choose the AF-area modes to be cycled, press 2 when [Cycle AF-area mode] is highlighted.
  • Highlight options and press J or 2 to select (M) or deselect (U). Only items marked with a check (M) will be cycled when the control is pressed.
5 [Pixel shift shooting] Press the control and rotate the main command dial to choose the pixel shift shooting mode and the sub-command dial to choose the number of shots.
Y [Power zoom +] Press the control to zoom in using power zoom when a power zoom lens is attached. This option is enabled automatically when [Power zoom −] is selected for [Fn2 button].
Z [Power zoom −] Press the control to zoom out using power zoom when a power zoom lens is attached. This option is enabled automatically when [Power zoom +] is selected for [Fn1 button].
z [Exposure delay mode] Hold the control and rotate a command dial to choose the exposure delay.

Option Description
