Skin Softening

Pictures taken when the face of a human portrait subject is detected will automatically be processed to soften the subject’s complexion.

Option Description
[High]

Choose the amount of skin softening performed from (in order from high to low) [High], [Normal], and [Low].

  • The camera can perform skin softening on up to three subjects at a time.
  • If more than one human portrait subject is detected, a gray focus point will appear over each of the subjects. If [Auto-area AF] is selected for [AF-area mode], H and F icons will appear on the focus point selected by the camera. The focus point can be positioned by pressing 4 or 2 to choose the subject to which skin softening applies.

Skin Softening: Restrictions

Skin softening cannot be combined with some camera features, including:

  • high-speed frame capture,
  • multiple exposures, and
  • HDR overlay.
