Sensor maintenance

When lenses are exchanged or the body cap is removed, dirt or dust may adhere to the image sensor and affect your photographs. Remove any dust and lint from the sensor with a blower. Select [Sensor maintenance] to clean the image sensor. For information on cleaning the image sensor, see “Manual Image Sensor Cleaning” (0Manual Image Sensor Cleaning).
- Camera controls cannot be used during sensor maintenance. Do not remove or disconnect the power source.
This menu item will be grayed out and unavailable if:
- the battery is low, or
- the camera is connected to and exchanging data with a computer or smart device via USB.
